Turning Life’s Quiet Moments
into Art

Blending my love of water, wildlife, and natural wonders from the camera lens to painting.

My Vision

My art begins where my travels take me, from the serene sunsets of Maine to the striking landscapes of Arizona. Each journey inspires an exploration of light, color, and composition. Using photography as my foundation, I transform these moments into paintings that invite a sense of peace and reflection, offering a fresh perspective on the beauty of the natural world.

Art has always been my sanctuary — a quiet space to return to. Being outside, taking photographs, and painting keep me grounded when life pulls me in every direction — through the chaos, the healing, and the quiet moments in between. Each piece I create is a reminder that even when life feels scattered, creativity helps me find my way back to myself. I believe in honoring the journey, trusting the timing, and creating from the heart — no matter where I am on the path. Making art helps me remember who I truly am.

My Artistic Journey

My artistic journey began in childhood, when, as a pediatric brain tumor cancer survivor, I turned to art as a way to express myself and overcome challenges.

At 18 months old, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given a one-in-three chance of surviving five years. What followed were numerous doctor visits, surgeries, radiation treatments, and hospital stays. In school, I initially struggled with reading comprehension so I created comic strips and storyboards with captions to aid my memory. Through using art, I was able to overcome my disabilities and achieve unlikely successes.

My interest in art deepened through local art classes at the Worcester Art Museum and Danforth Art Museum in Massachusetts. My dad and I attended seasonal open studios at the Fountain Street Studios in the historic Bancroft Building in Framingham, where I connected with two professional artists. I took private lessons with each of them and learned the fundamentals of color theory, composition, lighting, and various mediums like pencil, charcoal, and acrylics. I began painting landscapes, seascapes, still life, and animals.

As I progressed through school, I continued exploring traditional art while also developing an interest in photography and digital media. I was exposed early on to digital creativity by my dad, who worked as a Multi-Media Web Designer, Animator, and Marketing Manager. He taught me how to use a digital camera and introduced me to design software like Corel Painter, Flash, and the Adobe Creative Suite. With everything I had learned up to that point, I continued growing creatively by taking film photography classes in high school, where I learned to develop my own photos in the darkroom.

With all these influences shaping my path, I decided to pursue Graphic Design and Digital Media majors throughout college (University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, BFA 2012) while continuing my passion for painting and photography on the side. During my time in college, I took fine art classes, including digital photography, illustration, and drawing, which helped further develop my artistic skills and broadened my creative perspective. I also interned as a Graphic Designer at the college for the Publications and Women's Studies departments throughout the school years and at a corporate office environment during winter and summer breaks. I’ve since returned as an alumni guest speaker at UMass Dartmouth and mentor where I share my experiences, guidance and knowledge with current students.

Professional Experience & Exhibitions

Upon completing my degree, I have worked as a full-time Graphic Designer while traveling to various places, both locally and abroad, capturing photographs that inspire the paintings and prints I create.

In 2022, I became a Rhode Island Certified Artist. My work has been featured in local galleries, art fairs, and exhibits, showcasing a collection of miniature watercolors, acrylic paintings, and limited edition giclée prints. Exhibiting my work has been both an exciting and challenging experience, and I’m eager to continue expanding my artistic horizons.

Additionally, I began teaching teen art watercolor painting classes once a month at the Barrington Public Library in Rhode Island in 2025, guiding students from grades six through twelve to explore their creative expression.

In May 2025, an opportunity opened up for a shared art studio—something I had dreamed of since taking private lessons at the Fountain Street Studios. When I came across the space in April, I knew it was the right moment to make that dream a reality. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me next!

My Creative Process & Inspiration

For me, art is more than just self-expression– it’s a way to connect with the world around me in life's quiet moments. Whether I’m capturing a moment with my camera or painting a scene, I feel grounded and inspired by nature. From expansive landscapes to quiet, intimate details, nature is my constant source of inspiration. I am drawn to the light, colors, and textures that surround me. Through my paintings and photographs, I aim to capture the natural wonders and serenity I experience in the world and share it through my work.

What I Hope To Share

My work reflects my deep connection to nature, inspiring others to pause, reflect, and appreciate the serenities in life’s quiet moments.

Giving Back

Art has been a source of healing for me, and I’m dedicated to helping others find their creative voice. Whether mentoring students, teaching art classes, or speaking at community events, I hope to inspire and give back to those on their own creative journeys.
